Cracker

This is the term used to describe someone who creates software to overcome copy-protection schemes.

For example if the software asks for a 'registration-key' to install, then the 'cracker' will have created a 'keygen' to produce a working key.

Crackers are committing a criminal act because it is now illegal in many countries to try and get around copy protection methods.
